Neck and shoulder pain can be the result of stressed muscles and/or the abnormal curvature of the spine. I know, I've been there with extreme amounts of pain in both my neck and shoulders. I'm now pain-free, thanks to a Japanese doctor who taught me a back therapy program over 20-years ago. I learned the therapy program because I was a patient of this Japanese doctor. Prior to becoming a patient I was involved in a near fatal boating accident that left me with a broken back. I visited numerous medical doctors and chiropractors to no avail. One element that the therapy program teaches is to eliminate neck and shoulder pain. An exercise that helps eliminate this pain is by bringing the shoulders back, chest protruding outwards and stretching the neck. You can use a cord to tie your shoulders back as depicted in the picture. Combine this process with a knee bending exercise helps restore the spine to a healthy curvature and eliminate the pain. The key is to get to the root of the problem with neck and shoulder pain. Once you know the root cause, then its a matter of fixing to eliminate the pain forever. Without getting to the root cause, the symptom is typically treated without restoring the health.
